The Maruyama park opened in 1886 and is the oldest public park in Kyoto. It is located east of Yasaka-jinja Shrine at the foot of Higashiyama mountain. There are traditional Japanese restaurants and tea houses in the park. People come all year round to enjoy the most picturesque scenery. |
